Course Overview

In the current climate, it is often necessary for folks in the Transgender community to request support from a Social worker, Psychologist, or other Mental Health Professional (MHP) when it comes to transitioning.   It can be difficult to know what to do or even where to start to be sure that the proper care is being given at any given time.  This session is an overview of what types of medical procedures may require a letter or evaluation from a MHP and where to find the most current guidelines on how to support someone in their transition.  How do I make sure the person is set up for success in their transition?  How do I discuss the possible emotional risks if a procedure does not produce the desired results?  What do I do if I do the assessment and I do not believe the individual is ready to transition?  This and more can be discussed here.
