Defining Limited English Proficiency
This course has been developed to provide an overview of Limited English Proficiency as it pertains to behavioral health care. Participants will develop a definition of L.E.P. as it relates to those clients who may not have the ability to communicate effectively in English.
Characteristics of Those Clients with L.E.P.
This course will provide specific characteristics that a behavioral health professional should be aware of in order to determine if their client fits into this community. These characteristics have been established using evidence-based research and should be used by all professionals to determine what level of proficiency their client has.
Laws and Regulations Associated L.E.P.
As a practicing behavioral health professional, it is increasingly important to be aware of the laws and regulations set at the federal, state, and local levels regarding L.E.P.
