Definition:

Perfectionism is defined as refusal to accept any standard short of perfection.

Philosophically, it is defined as a doctrine holding that religious, moral, social, or political perfection is attainable, especially the theory that human moral or spiritual perfection should be or has been attained. Typically, people who strive for perfectionism set unrealistically demanding goals. They then regard failure to achieve these goals as unacceptable and a sign of personal worthlessness.
