Definition:

An Open Meeting is a type of 12-Step meeting that is open for attendance by individuals not identifying themselves as suffering from a drug and/or alcohol problem. This meeting can be used to spread information to members of the general public, family, friends, and to engage potential future members about that fellowship as a recovery resource.
