Definition:
Delirium Tremens ("DTs") is a state of confusion accompanied by trembling and vivid hallucinations. Symptoms may include restlessness, agitation, trembling, sleeplessness, rapid heartbeat, and possibly convulsions. DTs often occur in people with substance use disorders during withdrawal or abstinence from alcohol.
