Definition:

A breathalyzer (PBT machine) is a device used to measure the alcohol content of a breath sample, for the purposes of determining how much someone has had to drink. This device is usually used by law enforcement during a traffic stop with a suspected drunk or impaired driver in order to ensure the driver is operating the vehicle safely and while sober.
