Definition:

A 12 (Twelve) Step Fellowship program is a set of guiding principles outlining a course of action for recovery from addiction, compulsion, or other behavioral problems.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) was the first 12-step program established and many other support groups have branched off from AA using this model. These organizations unite people who have struggled with substance use disorder, providing strength and faith in one another to overcome addiction.
