This course will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.  This course will increase understanding of intergenerational trauma and the transmission of it through individuals, families, and cultures.

The purpose of this module is to teach mental health professionals about the reality of secondary trauma and how to prevent it. As well as explain what makes secondary trauma different.

The purpose of this module is to ensure that our behavioral health organizations provide trauma-informed care. As such, a trauma informed organization needs to maintain an environment of care for staff (administrative, direct care staff, clinical staff, supervisors) that addresses, minimizes, and treats secondary traumatic stress, and that increases staff resilience.

This module provides information on organizational assessment based upon trauma informed values and awareness, on implementation and an assessment model of trauma informed care.

Creating a facility environment that acknowledges and is aware of the impact of trauma, and the likelihood of a trauma history in behavioral health consumers coming into the CMHSP for services. The core values of trauma informed services are also included.


Duration: 1.5 hr. Credit Hours: 1.5 Credit Types:MI-CEC,MCBAP Related

This two-hour course provides an introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Children and Adolescents. Viewers will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of this evidence-based practice. This training counts for 2.0 hours of the 24 hours of annual training required by the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) for Children's Mental Health Professionals (CMHP).  This would be appropriate for CMHP, QMHP.
